Well, the ever elusive British street artist, Bansky, is back at it again... and I must say, it's pretty awesome.
Once again bringing his comedic satire and politically driven graffiti pieces to the streets, Banksy has some people going banana's. I've even read some websites saying that this may be his best work ever. Luckily, I'm not an art critic so I'm just going to say that I'm digging it.
Stop by his website at http://www.banksy.co.uk/ to check on his new "Outside" and "Inside" works, along with other past classics. Also, keep an eye out for his first book set for release in July 2012, "You Are an Acceptable Level of Threat". Here are a few of the one's I've been enjoying... especially this bush one, dude's pretty slick:
HAPPY EASTER everyone! Okay, a month or two late...but who's counting, especially when you can find YouTube gem's like this.
Kate Upton posted this one around Easter this year, and once again, just kills it. Easter is by far the shittiest holiday of all. If you're super religious, sorry, but I'd rather celebrate Arbor Day. I am going to imagine moving forward that THIS is the Easter Bunny that showed up all those years leaving me shitty candy and making me dress up and go to church. Looking back now, it was all worth it...
If only we could have had Easter Egg Hunt's like this growing up:
Festival season is offically in full swing... that's right, you heard it. Hippies, patchouli oil, flip flops, fraternity "BRO's" punching each other, sorority gal's getting wasted telling each other how much they love each other, over priced beers....WE'VE MADE IT! But I digress, there are alot of great acts hitting the festival scene this year with some you won't want to miss depending on where you go (At The Drive-In, Stevie Wonder, Alabama Shakes to name a few).
That being said, in honor of festival season the Pixies have released four tracks from their 2004 Coachella performance for free via their website. This was the first festival performance of the band since their reformation earlier that year, and the songs provided are all classic Pixies. You will have to enter your email and do a little legwork for it, but well worth it.
You can access the free download via http://www.pixiesmusic.com/ and just look for the "Free Coachella '04 EP Download" link in the upper right... here is a little tase from the '04 Coachella festival:
Regards,
Crackity Jones
p.s. and of course if you're looking to be fresh, try and search for these Vans SK8-Hi and Vans Slip-on Pixies shoes that were put out a while back. good luck if you can find 'em and feel free to shoot me a pair, size 12...
I feel like I'm becoming somewhat obsessed with this Kate Upton. I decided to do another quick YouTube search and found this lil' gem to take you into the weekend....
It's a Sobe YouTube commercial. Yeah, I've never drank this Sobe hound's piss either, but after watching this video I feel that I should at least try it. I mean, this video is just fantastic and so their drinks must be just as delicious, right????
Yeah, I'm not buying it either....but once again, you gotta love Marketing in the good ole' U.S. of A.! Sex sells people, but it might not sell some of these Sobe drinks...but at least I'm paying attention now! We really need to have more strong marketing campaign's like this. Put a beautiful woman in a bikini, try and have a virtual staring contest with here and see if you can win....AND OH YEAH, DRINK OUR SHITTY DRINK WHILE YOU'RE AT IT!!!
I'm gonna throw it out there and say this is better then the Cat Daddy video, but you be the judge:
Why, who’s that man in the dashing cardigan? Is that… Abe Froman, Sausage King of Chicago?
Holy shit, Mishka has done it again. You can now be the envy of everyone from Judd Nelson to John Hughes himself! Mishka has reproduced the classic Ferris Bueller cardigan for purchase via their website at http://mishkanyc.com/item/ferris-cardigan--black. Seriously, this thing is insane (and currently on sale if you wanna just pull the trigger).
If you really wanna take your Ferris game to the next level, take a look around for these Nike Dunk inspired Ferris Bueller shoes as well:
California's own, Best Coast, have returned with their much anticipated soph-hop offering, 'The Only Place'. The band's new release is the follow-up to 2010's major debut 'Crazy For You'... haven't heard of Best Coast yet? I bet you will.... The band's surf/pop/rock infectous sound will soon become a part of your upcoming Summer playlist.
Lead singer Bethany Cosentino's lyrics could be scripted from the diary of any girl's thoughts and emotions. While Bob Bruno's guitar.....while his guitar just fucking rocks. Sorry, I really couldn't think of anything witty or some zingy analogy bullshit.
Check out the title track from the new album to fully understand how awesome California is, the raw 'Last Year', and 'Up All Night' which is actually a remake from their 7-inch with San Diego’s Jeans Wilder from 2010. Need more convincing??? Check out the 'Our Deal" video from 'Crazy For You' below...which was directed by Drew Barrymore and stars a bunch of current child stars....like that iCarly chica:
Shiiiiiiiiiiit, sick of trying to convince you how great this band is... Do the right thing, and get your hands on both of their albums, or any of their past EP's that are available via iTunes as well.
And if you're in the Bay Area, they're playing at the Fox Theater in Oakland on 5/19 with tickets still available...
So Stussy has teamed up with Converse to put out some pretty sweet kicks for this Spring. As per the Stussy website, "the designs were to be inspired by certain friends and family who embody the lifestyles that both brands represent and “Stand Firm” in what they do." That's fine and dandy to this chucklehead as long as these muthaeffa's end up on my feet... just something refreshing out of Converse, especially if you're looking for something outside of the classic All-Star (or the Target Converse shoes that your mommy thinks look "stylish").
Do yourself a favor and pick up a pair of any of these styles. But be quick, sizes are disappearing from the website on a daily basis. I'm a fan of the Stussy x Converse Elm which is pictured to the left above (I have already invested in a pair, thank you very much). But if these aren't ticklin' your fancy, here are some other offerings from Stussy x Converse's collaboration this Spring:
You can pick up a pair of these hoofs at stussy.com or at select Stussy Chapter Stores while supplies last....
